Happy Bastille Day!
Here are some franco-philic celebrations going on in the Valley today:
Bastille Day at Bouchon:
Bouchon in Yountville is celebrating Bastille Day Wednesday, July 14 from 3 to 10 p.m.
Complete with French cuisine, live music and children’s activities, the fête will be held in the courtyard between Bouchon and Bouchon Bakery.
food will include merguez sandwiches, tarte flambé, shortrib rillettes and sweet/savory crepes plus an assortment of sweets, including cookies, macarons, cupcakes, cotton candy and the restaurant’s signature chocolate “bouchons.”
A whole roasted pig will also be featured in addition to the traditional French fare.
Beverages will include Bouchon’s vin de carafe, chilled Beaujolais, cocktails, beer and nonalcoholic beverages.
The festivities will include live performances from French artists such as Helene Attia (3-6 p.m.) and Cortableu (6-9 p.m.).
Special children’s activities will include a Cupcake Decorating Station and a Twister tournament.

Bastille Day at Bistro Jeanty
On Bastille Day, Bistro Jeanty in Yountville will have $1 oysters and $1 sardines with fennel and lemon from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., drink specials and live accordion music by Steve Ventrello, from 5:30 until at least 7:30 p.m.
On the menu will be frogs legs with pastis cream sauce and pastis cocktail specials.
Bistro Jeanty is at 6510 Washington St. in Yountville. Call 944-0103 for reservations, which you will surely need.
